Van Build
Light Weight Stealth
Ford Transit 250, Med Roof, Reg Body
About this Build
Monica contacted us after seeing another van we had converted. She wanted something that would look like that conversion, but her budget was limited. I worked with her and we came up with a design that met her requirements and her budget. While this build doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, it is still highly functional and Monica loves it. I keep in touch and she shares some of her adventures with me.
Economic, Fully Functional
One bottom line requirement was to build out this van on a budget. This took some judicious compromising, on features and materials. We wanted our client to have their van, but they had a restrictive budget. We sharpened our pencils and got busy.

Meeting the Budget
In place of our normal 100AH Battle Born Lithium batteries, we used 1 deep cycle AGM 200 Amp Hour battery. The client did not want solar on the roof, at all. She has actually done fine without it. Most of her house battery charge comes from the van’s alternator. This is sometimes supplemented with shore power charging.
Water System
Foot Pump Waster Delivery
6 Gallon Fresh Water Can
5 Gallon Grey Water Tank (Removable)
Beating the Budget
Typically we might put a 30 gallon tank (minimum) for fresh water. Our grey water system would feature a remote switch to empty it any time or place. However, this was one area we could reduce build cost. By building it out in more of a DIY fashion, we were able to meet the strict budgetary constraints of our client.
